Sending the free text SMS message is a recent phenomenon in the realm of wireless communications and both computer users as well as mobile phone owners can send text messages to other persons’ mobile or PC. Text messages are nothing but just mobile emails and save considerable time and money, when compared to phone calls. SMS Everywhere - This is a simple and straight forward web based service. No registration is required in U.S. You have to type in the receiver’s cell number, message and agree to the terms of use. SMS Everywhere widget can be added to personal blogs or websites which allows webmasters to text messages remaining in the site.
811 – Both the sender’s and receiver’s phone numbers are required to use this 811. Along with the text message, free pictures can also be sent under 2 MB in size. Registration is not required.
Online Text Message – This service also does not require registration. We have to enter the receiver’s cell phone number, carrier, and type the message. Template type messages are also available.
Peekamo - This Canadian based company allows the users to send messages from the web or cell phones to any place in the world. It sends non-intrusive and ad-sponsored messages. Activation and registration are required.
Text Em Net – You can send free text messages to users by entering the user’s cell phone number ands carrier name. Messages are limited to 120 characters. Registration is optional but those who register can receive the messages on the computer.
Anon Txt - This interface is very simple and allows users in the U.S.A or Canada to send text messages from computers anonymously. If an alias name is not chosen, receivers see “Anon” or Anon@AnonText.com. No registration is required.
Web Text services enable computer users the ability to send free SMS instantaneous text messages from a computer, for free. Some cell phone companies also offer web-SMS and email-to-SMS services.
